Magic the Gathering (otherwise known as MTG) is widely considered to be the world's first TCG (trading card game). Since the early 90s, countless players have experienced the fun of casting spells and summoning large creatures to battle other players across the planes. The game can be played online and in paper, and a variety of game modes exist for head-to-head and group play!

At HEROES Gaming Group, we officially play using 2 different platforms: Untap and MTGA.

Untap.in is a website which allows you to utilize any card from MTG's history to build and battle decks for free. No endless grinding to unlock cards. No paywall blocking you from enjoying yourself. It also has a mostly manual setup, which mimics paper play as much as you can with an online platform. We use it mainly for the Commander format, which is geared towards casual group play.

MTGA (Magic the Gathering Arena) is another popular way to play, and is geared more towards competitive play with 60 card formats. You can play games to unlock cards, then use those cards to build custom decks that compete in tournaments and ranked ladder.
